Unification of standard and exotic matter through a Z2 symmetry

چکیده
We consider a scenario in which the discrete weak symmetry between quarks and leptons is extended to the weak force by introducing exotic partners. We conjecture that there exists a hidden discrete symmetry P̃, defining a Z2 group, between standard and exotic quarks and leptons. The unified model SU(3) q × SU(3) q̃ × SU(2) ql̃ × SU(2) q̃l × U(1) Y × P̃ is discussed, where the unifying discrete symmetry extends over particles and forces. It is shown that the lighter neutral and charged weak bosons generated upon spontaneous symmetry breaking have the same properties as those of the standard model. Cabbibo-Kobayashi-Maskawa unitarity is used to set a mass of order 2.8 TeV for the nonstandard weak bosons, which do not exhibit quark-lepton universality. A grand unified theory of (GUT)ql̃ × (GUT)q̃l × P̃ type, with decay of exotic matter into standard matter and no decay of the ordinary nucleon, is put forward.

Cosmological and phenomenological implications of Wilsonian matter in realistic superstring derived models ∗
Superstring phenomenology aims at achieving two goals. The first is to reproduce the observed physics of the Standard Model. The second is to identify experimental signatures of superstring unification which, if observed, will provide further evidence for the validity of superstring theory. I discuss such potential signatures of superstring unification. I propose that proton lifetime constraint...
متن کاملOn the Unification of Higgs-Nambu Goldstone Boson in the Formation of Near-brane Exotic Scalar via Scherk-Shwarz Breaking in 5-Dimensional SU(6) Symmetry
The 5D Scherk-Schwarz breaking with orbifold S/Z2 in SU(6) symmetry under special condition leads to a dimensional deconstruction without gauge symmetry breaking where SU(6) Little Higgs-like scalars show up either as weakly-coupled or strongly-coupled. The latest, together with the broken fifth component of 5D gauge boson, composes Coleman-Weinberg potential which can be generalized by substit...

Vacuum stability in the Standard Model is problematic as the Higgs quartic self-coupling runs negative at a renormalization scale of about 10 GeV. We consider a non-supersymmetric SO(10) grand unification model for which gauge coupling unification is made possible through an intermediate scale gauge group, Gint = SU(3)C ⊗SU(2)L⊗SU(2)R⊗U(1)B−L. Gint is broken by the vacuum expectation value of a...
متن کاملPhenomenological aspects of M–theory
The Standard Model data suggests the realization of grand unification structures in nature, in particular that of SO(10). A class of string vacua that preserve the SO(10) embedding, are the three generation free fermion heterotic–string models, that are related to Z2×Z2 orbifold compactification. Attempts to use the M–theory framework to explore further this class of models are discussed. Wilso...
متن کاملMatter Unification in Warped Supersymmetric SO ( 10 )
We construct models of warped unification with a bulk SO(10) gauge symmetry and boundary conditions that preserve the SU(4)C×SU(2)L×SU(2)R Pati-Salam gauge group (422). In the dual 4D description, these models are 422 gauge theories in which the apparent unification of gauge couplings in the minimal supersymmetric standard model is explained as a consequence of strong coupling in the ultraviole...
